Is there any places you visit everytime your in vegas for food? Also what are the best places you have eaten when in vegas that you may not always go back to but have had great meals at.
For me I always eat at least once (usually 3-4 times) at Ellis Island it is not a top end food spot but as far as value I think it is hard to beat the $6.99 steak dinner is pretty good and comes with a beer. I also always eat at least once at earl of sandwhich in PH great sandwhich at a good price.
As far as places I really like but dont make trips to all the time
1. N9NE at palms great steakhouse but a bit pricey
2. For sushi I love Nobu at hard rock and sushi roku in the cesears forum shops
3. not a big buffet fan but the seafood buffet at the Rio is pretty good
4. Not a food place but I always hit up Fat Tuesdays a few times a trip for a drink with an extra shot these are scattered all over the strip.
5. Mexican place at TI is pretty good as well cant remember the name though.

Ellis Island....so good. If you are over there on a Friday or Saturday evening, pop into the Tuscany poker room....I have never had one losing session there in about 7 or 8 tries....problem is, they can't always get a 1/2NL game going.
The problem for me in Vegas is we never seem to eat at the same place twice other than Ellis Island. I do want to check out Aria again though...we popped into a little sports bar place before playing poker there and the food was awesome....little on the pricey side, but very tasty.

I don't think I've been to the same place twice with the exception of the food court nearest the Caesars poker room. Each time I've gone with the wife, we try to visit at least one really nice restaurant. I've been to several good places, but don't have a favorite. I don't remember any of their names, but I can take you to each one. The memorable places include:
The italian restaurant in Excalibur (on the 2nd floor near the escalators)
The buffet at MGM (WAAAY too expensive, but the food was decent)
One of the Emeril seafood restaurants back in the shops at MGM
The Knights of the Roundtable show/dinner at Excalibur.
An expensive "home-cooking" restaurant in MGM (between the entrace for Ka and the high stakes/ baccarat room) <--really good
A NY Deli place in the Caesar forums (I couldn't find it when I was there last year, but they had great sandwiches & pickles)
An Indian food place in the Rio (around the corner from the corridor to the WSOP)
All I know is that I won't visit the buffet at Excalibur again. That place tore me up. It ended up making me miss several 10 minute sections of a Cirque show, including making me 5 minutes late for the show start (I was literally running to try to find a bathroom).

The wife and I have been to Olive's at the Bellagio a number of times. Great food, but a little pricey. Another high dollar place is Delmonico's at the Venetian, but I think that will be a one time shot - too pricey, but really good food. All time favorite though has to be the second floor buffet at Circus-Circus! *sense the sarcasm*

Best: Fluer di Lis (sp?) AWESOME!
We always try to hit the Bellagio Buffet at least once per trip.
Aureole - very good as well, unbelievable wine list
Prime - great steaks but a bit over rated and definitely over priced
There's a great Italian joint in the mall next to the MGM, can't remember what it was called.

I think I am going to try out CUT at the palazzo or Stripsteak at MGM both seem to get great reviews and looks like it will run about $100 a person for salad or appatizer a steak and a side or 2 including tip so pretty much on par with other top end steakhouses. I have also considered the steak house at circus circus which gets a lot of good reviews as well and is about 1/2 the price of the others but not sure I can bring myself to actually step foot in that place.
