Grin I said I was in a "zone" that I'd NEVER been in before...it was unreal!

It'll be fun to watch, for sure...I'm going to leave the "sound bite" surprise for the viewing...I'll get razzed forever after it airs.  Roll Eyes

teaser hand from HPT in April...getting ripped on Facebook over it, but what should I expect from a 2min clip and ZERO history about play/reads to that point - EVERYONE's a pro, right? LoL

So, now I'm thinking - how do I use this to my advantage in September and/or the Champ's event in November? I may come across a few people who will have seen the clip, and the actual event won't have aired yet...hehehe.

For now, hee haw! http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=589870414440&ref=mf

I'd suggest you just feel proud to have won, regardless of what is said or posted.  This is just one hand and doesn't tell the whole story.  And despite what anyone says, luck plays a huge factor in navigating any large tournament field......and, I might add, skill!

So, would you rather win.....or lose "pretty" with your peer's approval?

Of course there's a history behind the hand...not to mention, as chip leader, certain "plays" are almost a requirement at certain points in a tourney - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't...and I AM proud, believe me - I'm laughing at some of the comments posted on FB...I know I know what I'm doing, and its only a matter of time before people learn/know that for themselves (Champs event, maybe?)

I would rather just get deal Aces every hand, just to see how many times I can play them wrong.

This will be interesting to watch how people react to your play - with exposure comes judgement...fun!  I for one after looking at the hand thought you played it well...I could appreciate the min raise as chip leader...and the call when he reraised...a little scary but you could afford it...on the flop, given short handed, I think your queen has a reasonable chance of being good and his push made me feel that he wanted it to be over...so yes, call.

I look forward to watching every bit of it!

Finally saw this video and all I can say is that alot of those comments from FB idiots only indicate they all over-value JJ.  I think alot of the missing back-story would really help explain this play.

My reads on the other guy based on the small clip:

Definately doesn't have the flush post flop.  If he did, he wouldn't have shoved unless he genuinely thinks Matt would pay him.
AK/AQ or a flopped set is a definate possibility (although I doubt he's re-raising with pocket 5's) and his shove indicates he doesn't want Matt to draw to the 4-flush

Ultimately I put him on middle pocket pair.  His play shows that he is more confident you'll fold to the spade board and that he's betting against what you DONT have.

I'd still be hard pressed to make the call, but like I said earlier more backstory would help.
