Just an fyi....Paul and I will be posting the new 2010 structure and the first game sometime in June.  We plan on starting back up in July, once everyone's Vegas trips have completed.

Stay tuned!

Hi all:

The 2010 WSOP tournament series will be starting back up July 10th and go for 10 straight months on the second Saturday of each month.  The location will continue to rotate every other month between Paul's house and mine.  We are grateful to all who have expressed interest in hosting some of the events.  The fact of the matter is, though, that Paul and I really do enjoy the hosting part and don't want to turn the tournament series into a "traveling game".  We have chosen the 2nd Saturday of each month for our games and would like to see others post and host other games each month.  I know John and Dani, David, Brad, Matt...etc....all have expressed interest in hosting.  Paul, Cheryl and I look forward to attending your events!

We decided to keep the structure the same as it has been working well...and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"  10 monthly games, seating 10 players at $35 each with $50 going to each 2nd place finish.  $3000 generated over the 10 month season for the May 2011 championship table.

One request, though....we'd like to ask for help filling the seats as early as possible each month.  Too many times it gets down to the wire.....and we're only at 8 or 9 players.  Let's get the word out...I know Chris S, Mark, John and Dani have poker contacts who might be interested.  At our bowling league, we've met another team who also runs a poker league similiar to ours and they may also be interested in participating.

Looking forward to getting started back up in July!

I may be able to participate in more of these this upcoming season.  We'll see how things turn out.

I have noticed that these are almost always ending 1+ hours before the evening game starts and I feel we could easily add 1-2 levels and make the structure a lot better without slowing the start of the evening game. I have talked with several people that play often and all have felt the same way after the first few levels it just goes up a little to fast and it becomes a shove fest. I would like to see 1-2 levels added at least for a few months to see how it works and I really doubt we would have any problems getting the late game started on time.

The last one I played did seem to get moving very quickly.  I honestly didn't remember it going that fast when I had played a while back (over a year ago).

All you would need to do is add like 2 levels and keep the blinds at 20 minutes.
